is it just me or is it really sad that Bolin not being an asshole is such a notable character trait? It’s kind of freaky to see that being a genuinely nice person is so rare that he gets all this love and adoration for it.

This is why I would honestly say Bolin is a good guy and not a “good” guy. Because he is good. He’s sweet, funny, and (usually) optimistic. If things don’t go his way, he doesn’t take out on people. The fact is that Korra kissed Mako, Bolin was emotionally devastated. He’s in love with her. Truly in love. And it is great.
