I don’t often dress with the intent to look nice. To me, there’s no point. If I feel like I’m not pretty enough to look decent, then there’s no point in looking decent to look pretty. But the rare occasions I do try and look like a respectable member of society I really take to heart what people say, if anything, about it.

My coworker just told me to take off my bracelet because it makes a lot of noise. I know it seems silly of me to be so hurt by it, but I am. It makes me wonder why I try at all to look pretty if it’s just annoying.
